Description (Service) Vulnerable person registry program * Combines radio technology with a coordinated police response to assist in locating wandering and disoriented loved ones with Alzheimers’, autism and other related conditions or special needs
* Participants wear a personalized wristband that emits a tracking signal
* Caregivers notify York Regional Police when their loved one is missing and a Search and Rescue Team responds to the area where the person was last seen and utilizes a mobile-location tracking system

Eligibility •Individual living with cognitive impairment such as Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or another condition that may place them at risk of wandering
• must be monitored by a caregiver
• must reside in York Region with a caregiver or in the non-secure section of a facility
• not involved in unescorted activities that would create increased risk of wandering
• must not operate a motor vehicle
