Description (Service) Employment programs for youth * potential for permanent long term employment after placement if placement successful * some programs include Smart Serve, Food Handlers, CPR, & WHIMIS Certifications for participants * provides lunch and bus tickets to and from classes * funding available for work attire or uniforms

Employment Programs include:

Specialized Training for Employment Program (STEP) employment training and supports to youth with barriers and who self-identify specifically with mental health challenges * counselling, one-on-one job coaching and 260 hours of paid work placement opportunities * for youth who self- identify with mental health challenges * ages 15-30 * unemployed and not attending full time school * not received any form of Employment Insurance (EI) within the past 5 years * valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and legally eligible to work in Canada

Base 4 Success (B4S) 12 week paid employment program for youth who face barriers to employment * 120 hours of facilitated classroom pre-employment workshops and 240 hours of paid work placement opportunities * for youth ages of 15-30 * currently unemployed and not attending full time school * not received any form of Employment Insurance (EI) within the past 5 years * valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and legally eligible to work in Canada

Youth Job Connection (YJC), 60-90 hours of paid pre-employment workshops and work placement with scheduling flexibility to meet youth skills development needs up to 6 months * pre-employment in-class training workshop is facilitated in Markham, participants MUST complete 60 hours of paid pre-employment training prior to employment placement * for youth 15 to 29 years old at the time of registration * Ontario resident * A valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and legally eligible to work in Canada * currently unemployed and not attending full time school

Youth Job Connection Summer (YJCS) supports secondary school students with multiple barriers gain work experience either throughout summer vacation or at a maximum of 10 hours per week during the school year * pre-employment in-class training workshop facilitated in Markham, participants MUST complete 20 hours of paid pre-employment training prior to employment placement * ages 15 to 18 years old at the time of registration * Ontario resident * valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and legally eligible to work in Canada * participating in or planning to return to high school or access postsecondary education after job placement

Youth Success Strategy (YSS) guides youth through job search process, while building their resume’s and cover letters, preparing for interviews

Every Bite Matters (EBM) 12-week paid employment program for youth who face barriers to employment and have interest in culinary skill development * Participants MUST complete Week 1 and 2 in class pre-employment workshops and Weeks 3 to 8 hands-on learning and practicing culinary skills and safety in HUB kitchen * Youth placed during week 9 to 12 with 24 hours/week in an culinary focused employment placement * hosted at Richmond Hill HUB, 360° Home Base, 10415 Yonge Street and class size limited to 5 participants * ages 15-30 * not received any form of Employment Insurance (EI) within the past 5 years * valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and legally eligible to work in Canada
