Description (Service) Hospital-based programs for children and adolescents living in York Region or within the hospital's service area experiencing various mental health problems 
 
Services offered: 
 
* Child and Family Clinic: Regional out-patient service, provides psychiatric assessments for all referrals followed by intensive psychotherapy services for patients based on those psychiatric consultations 
 
* Child and Adolescent In-Patient Unit: Regional in-patient unit; consists of seven secure beds; focus of the unit is short-term assessment and crisis stabilization for children and adolescents presenting with severe and acute mental health disorders 
 
* Day Hospital Program: Provides services for clients with severe psychiatric disorders that are hindering their ability to function in certain areas of their life; offers an eight space specialized Care & Treatment classroom and intensive psychotherapy services , 24 week program 
 
* Disruptive Behaviours Program: Regional out-patient program; Types of problems addressed include moderate to severe disruptive behaviours, oppositional defiance, explosiveness and early conduct problems; Services are short term, strength based and solution focused; Treatment options include consultative assessment, pharmacotherapy and brief intensive psychosocial treatment 
 
* Urgent Clinic: Provides short-term crisis intervention services (maximum of 4 sessions) for clients who have presented in a mental health crisis to the emergency department and require follow-up outpatient services
Hours Day Hospital Program: Mon 9 am-3 pm, Tue 12 noon-3 pm, Wed-Fri 9 am-3 pm * Contact for hours for all other programs
Dates Day Hospital Program: Approximately 24 weeks in duration

Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and under 
 
Children and adolescents with mental health issues who reside anywhere in York Region or within hospital's service area 
 
* Child and Family Clinic: Children up to 18 years of age 
* Child and Adolescent In-Patient Unit: Children and adolescents under the age of 18 
* Day Hospital Program: Youth 14-18 
* Disruptive Behaviours Program: Children and adolescents 6-18
Application Child & Family Clinic by referral from physicians and secondary service providers * Disruptive Behaviours Clinic Referrals are accepted from physicians or by agencies providing service with the knowledge and agreement of the family’s physician * Day Hospital Day Program by internal referrals from other Southlake Child and Adolescent Mental Health Programs or external referrals made by the family’s physician * Urgent Clinic by referrals for those patients without active clinical services in the community by the Crisis Worker in the Emergency Department
