Co-operative Housing resident is member of corporation that owns and manages the housing community * must attend an information session, most co-operatives also require interview with their membership committee to apply * members expected to participate in operation of community though committee work or other activities

Non-Profit Housing mix of rent-geared-to-income housing and market rent housing * housing communities are owned and operated by community-based organizations
Hours Housing York Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm * hours vary for individual housing locations

Eligibility all household members must be legal resident of Canada or refugee claimant * one household member must be 16+ years of age * no household members can owe money to a social housing provider (unless you are currently repaying the money) * no household members can be under deportation, departure or exclusion order * household members must be able to live independently with or without support services * must arrange for own support services needed

Applicants eligible for older adults housing if at least one household member is 60 years or older
