Funding Federal - Labour Market Integration Program
Description (Service) ACAP is a national pilot project that offers integrated services to support:
* Underutilized internationally trained professionals to re-position themselves in alternative careers related to their expertise;
* Employers to hire, develop and retain internationally trained individuals who are highly qualified but underutilized within their workforce;

ACAP assists internationally trained professionals who become attached to or settle on working in underutilized positions that devalue their skills and expertise by offering services that help underutilized internationally trained professionals achieve sustainable and meaningful labour market attachment;

ACAP also looks to mitigate a potential labour and skills shortage by assisting employers in better engaging internationally trained professionals who are highly qualified but underutilized

Eligibility Clients are eligible to participate in ACAP if they meet the following conditions: 
* Immigrant who is either a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen (with 5 years or more in Canada) 
* Employed (more than 20 hrs/wk) in a job that underutilizes the education & expertise obtained in the country of origin 
* Possess English language proficiency sufficient to work in Canada (CLB 6) 
* Not pursuing the credential accreditation process 
* Seeking alternative careers relevant to the trained profession
Application not currently accepting new clients * Call or email to determine eligibility and to be placed on waitlist or to inquire into other service providers
