Description (Service) Provides health programs and information to assist residents of Regional municipality of York of all ages including:

Child and Family Health - education and support programs and services, including prenatal/postnatal classes, postpartum depression support, breastfeeding support, parenting skills, child growth and development, positive discipline information and programs, family violence;

Healthy Lifestyles includes workplace wellness, injury and falls prevention, non-smoking programs, chronic disease prevention and early detection of cancer * substance abuse prevention and support, street outreach, needle exchange;

Dental Servicesdental screening in elementary schools, at a Public Health dental clinic or at some Early Years Centres and Preventive Dental Clinics for children from York Region families where fees difficult to pay, Healthy Smiles and Urgent Emergecy Dental programs cover children's dental fees for qualifying low-income families ;

Nutrition Services nutrition for schools, childcare centres and workplaces, healthy eating for new and expecting mothers, food access programs * consultation, training and ongoing support to community partners and organizations interested in helping their clients learn important food skills, such as planning and preparing healthy meals ;

School Services health promotion and illness prevention for parents, teachers and children in public and Catholic schools; also information on topics such as violence and bullying in schools, head lice, drug abuse, sexual health information and resources for educators, nutrition and physical activity for schools ;

Health Protection programs include food and water safety, environmental health, pool and spa safety, rabies, infection control, West Nile Virus, lyme disease, pesticide reduction ;

Infectious Diseases Control - immunization programs and clinics; infectious diseases surveillance and services; , sexual health programs and clinics; travel health
