Description (Service) Children and adolescents from two different countries spend a year together: 6 months welcoming and 6 months in the foreign country living with a family * 3 month exchanges also available

Dates Applications accepted two times a year for exchanges that start in Feb and Sep of each year
Meetings Canadian meeting and interviews are held twice a year, once in the spring and the other in the fall -- this allows families to gain more information in regards to exchanges as well as students to interview for the next round of matching

Applicants should be excited by the prospect of both 1) living abroad in a language immersion program for six months and 2) in welcoming a sister/brother into your home for six months * or 3 months for 3 month program 
 
It is not necessary to speak the language of the exchange country * many of the children who participate in the exchange arrive in their new country without being able to say more than a few words or phrases 
 
Grades are not as important to us as attitude and behavior * Homeschoolers are welcome
Application Exchanges generally begin in February and September each year * carefully read all of the information on the website
