Description (Service) Occurs every four years * provides eligible East Gwillimbury residents with the opportunity to select: 1 Mayor, up to 2 Councillors for each ward, and 1 School Board Trustee in each of the regional school boards

Canadian citizen; at least 18 years old; a resident of the Town of East Gwillimbury or a non-resident owner or tenant of land in the Town of Newmarket or their spouse; not prohibited from voting by law * single vote regardless of number of properties owned or rented 
 
All electors must produce identification including their name, qualifying address and signature at their voting locations in order to obtain a ballot * Identification includes an Ontario Driver’s Licence, an Ontario Health Card (photo card only), a cancelled personalized cheque * for other acceptable identification please go to www.eastgwillimbury.ca/EGvotes 
 
Prior to the election, make sure that your name is on the Voters' List, and that your information is correct * view the Voters’ List at the Town Clerk’s Office *  
Request an amendment form from the Town Clerk’s Office for a missing or incorrect name right up to Voting Day, during office hours
Application go to www.voterlookup.ca before Election day Oct 22 2018 to check if on the Voters List and if information is up to date * Voter Notification Cards will be mailed to all Eligible Voters on Voters List in late September * Voter Notification Cards will include information on designated ward, poll, polling location and dates and times for Advance Polls and Election Day * List of registered candidates can be found on website
